According to Football League World, Brandon Hanlan, a star for Wycombe Wanderers, has received bids from Port Vale, Doncaster Rovers, and Northampton Town.
The three League One teams are hoping for a successful summer transfer window, with the Valiants and Rovers hoping to reclaim their third-tier standing for the upcoming year.
As the Cobblers enter their first full season under Kevin Nolan’s leadership at Sixfields, the team’s ultimate goal is to compete at the top of League One in 2025–2026.
Port Vale, Doncaster Rovers and Northampton Town table offers for Wycombe Wanderers star Brandon Hanlan
Football League World has exclusively been informed that Port Vale, Doncaster Rovers and Northampton Town have all tabled offers for Wycombe Wanderers forward, Brandon Hanlan.
The 28-year-old is set to become a free agent at the end of June, with his contract with the Chairboys set to expire and with the club having announced he’ll be leaving via their retained list.
Hanlan signed with Wycombe back in the summer of 2021, having spent the season prior as a Bristol Rovers player.
A product of Charlton Athletic’s academy system, he made his professional debut with the Addicks in 2016, before going onto enjoy various loan stints with Bromley on two separate occasions and Colchester, before leaving The Valley on a permanent basis in the summer of 2018 to sign with Gillingham.
After spending two seasons with the Gills, the forward would then sign for Bristol Rovers for the 2020/21 campaign, but after just one year at the Memorial Stadium, he would make a permanent move to Adams Park.
He would quickly establish himself as an important player for Wanderers, but did spend a year on the sidelines between November 2023-2024 after suffering a nasty ACL injury.
Hanlan would make just 13 appearances in all competitions for Wycombe during the first half of last season, before spending the second half of the campaign on loan with fellow League One side Stevenage.
There he would make 16 third tier appearances, scoring two goals and being unable to provide any assists.
Port Vale, Doncaster and Northampton could all offer Hanlan much-needed fresh start
This summer feels like a sensible time for Hanlan to pursue a new adventure away from Adams Park.
He’s enjoyed four years as a Wycombe player, but the second half of his Chairboys career hasn’t gone the way he, nor the club would’ve hoped.
That’s through no fault of anyone either, with an ACL injury being an incredibly difficult setback for any player to deal with, both physically and mentally.
