Reece Brown, a midfielder, has signed a one-year contract with Crawley Town Football Club.

The 29-year-old, who most recently played for Forest Green Rovers, joins the team. During a trial period at the end of the previous season, the gifted midfielder, who has played for England at the young level, made an impression on the management staff at the Broadfield Stadium.

After graduating from Birmingham City’s academy, Brown played for the Blues in their first squad for four years. Brown also had enjoyable loan stints with Chesterfield and Notts County while he was at Birmingham.

He initially connected with Forest Green in 2017. The midfielder went on to have a stellar rookie season, making 42 appearances across all competitions. After that, Brown had an even stronger season, making 52 appearances and earning a spot on the PFA League Two Team of the Season.

After growing interest, Brown decided to sign with Huddersfield Town before the beginning of the 2019–20 season after they were relegated from the Premier League. Two further loan stints with the Posh followed a successful loan term with Peterborough while he was with the Terriers.

Reece re-signed with Forest Green Rovers in the EFL till the end of the 2023–2024 season when his contract with Huddersfield expired.

On June 23, he will formally join the team, pending EFL approval.

Reds manager Scott Lindsey commented on the new player, saying: “I worked with Reece back when I was at Forest Green Rovers. He is incredibly talented, capable of driving forward, passing, and being at ease with the ball at his feet. He fully aligns with the goals we have set for ourselves at Crawley. His potential, in my opinion, didn’t achieve its full potential, so perhaps Crawley will provide him with the opportunity to shine once more. We are thrilled to have him on board because he wowed us all during his trial with us at the end of last season.

Brown went on to say: “I’m thrilled to have joined the club, and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish in the upcoming season. I am really happy to be working with Scott again, and I am hoping we can achieve great things together.”
