In light of Dion Charles’ presence in Bolton Wanderers’ away end after the forward saw him apologise, Huddersfield Town interim head coach Jon Worthington is trying to ‘draw a line’.

On the same day Huddersfield Town was soundly defeated 4-0 at Charlton Athletic, footage of the Terriers forward at Bloomfield Road on Saturday surfaced on social media. He witnessed his old team lose 2-1 to Blackpool.

In January, Charles moved to Town from their League One opponents, however he is presently out due to a hamstring injury. At a press conference this afternoon, Worthington discussed the matter, saying: “Dion came to see me on Sunday morning first thing to apologise.”

In the end, I believe he has likely been a little foolish because of the circumstances, which include Bolton and another team in our league, as well as the fact that he is attending a football game with his three-year-old kid.

Because of his injury, he is also unavailable to us. He expressed regret, and in the end, I believe we should set a boundary and move on as soon as feasible.

Charles has missed the last two games due to injury, but Worthington stated that the forward is “getting close” to recovering from his setback.

Discussing team news for tomorrow’s clash at Lincoln City, the interim head coach said: “I don’t think there’s anybody coming back. There’s probably a couple of doubts that I’ll just leave until tomorrow to make that final call.”
