Hull FC have named their 21-man squad ahead of Saturday’s Super League round two game at Wigan Warriors. The Black and Whites head over the Pennines to take on the Warriors at the Brick Community Stadium, but will do so without two key players: Jake Arthur and Zak Hardaker.
Arthur has a minor hamstring strain and with the player still ‘touch and go’ the club have opted not to risk him. Meanwhile, Hardaker has a leg issue that he picked up during last week’s opener against Bradford Bulls. Ligi Sao also drops out of the squad after copping a two-match suspension following a dangerous contact charge.
On a lighter note, Jed Cartwright returns to the squad. The forward has passed his return to play protocols following a recent head knock. He is joined by young duo Matty Laidlaw, who played big minutes for the reserves last week, and Logan Moy, who has recovered from a calf injury picked up in pre-season.
Having said that, Jed Cartwright rejoins the team. After a recent head hit, the forward has cleared his return to play procedures. Alongside him are two young players: Logan Moy, who has recovered from a calf injury sustained during the preseason, and Matty Laidlaw, who played significant minutes for the reserves last week.

Elsewhere, Hull are still without Herman Ese’ese (Achilles), John Asiata (hamstring), James Bell (knee), Joe Phillips (leg), Roman Dawson (knee) and Ryan Westerman (foot). Asiata and Bell are back training and are hoped to be back before round four – although the situation is being monitored ‘week to week.’
