After Hull FC’s first victory over Bradford Bulls, Ligi Sao was charged with Grade D dangerous contact.
All Out Rugby League can reveal that Hull FC will not contest the charge against prop Ligi Sao.

The match review panel gave the 33-year-old a Grade D dangerous contact punishment for his challenge on Bradford Bulls back-rower Dan Russell, meaning he will miss the next two games for the Black and Whites.

Sao featured off the interchange bench in the opening round, and the grading has placed him over the automatic suspension threshold.

With 15 penalty points, he will serve a two-match ban and miss upcoming Super League clashes against Wigan Warriors and York Knights. He was also fined for the incident at the MKM Stadium, as Hull claimed a 27-20 victory.

John Cartwright was also without Herman Ese’ese, John Asiata and James Bell last week, with fitness updates to follow ahead of Saturday’s trip to the Brick Community Stadium.

However, Jed Cartwright and Jake Arthur are expected to be available to face Matt Peet’s Warriors. Cartwright failed a head injury assessment in the Challenge Cup third round tie with Salford the week prior to the opening weekend of Super League, while new recruit Arthur was forced to wait for his Super League debut due to a minor hamstring injury.

Sao was one of two players suspended on Monday, with Catalans Dragons captain Benjamin Garcia handed a one-match ban after a Grade A late contact charge.

Elsewhere, Mikey Lewis has been cleared to play in this week’s World Club Challenge, avoiding a suspension for his controversial trip against York Knights’ Liam Harris. The Hull KR playmaker, who was sent to the sin-bin for the incident at the LNER Community Stadium, received a Grade C charge but had a clean disciplinary record.
