As BRAINTREE Town gets ready for the 2025–2026 season, ‘plenty of discussions’ are happening behind the scenes, according to manager Steve Pitt.
In preparation for a second consecutive National League season, the Iron are working hard to bolster their roster.
Braintree, who will soon reveal their first summer addition, is getting ready to live without Louie Annesley and Kyrell Lisbie, who have left for Dorking Wanderers and Peterborough United, respectively.

“As always, this is a really busy time with a lot of conversations going on behind the scenes as we get ready for another season in the National League,” Pitt told the Braintree Town website.
“Unfortunately, the club and individual players must make tough decisions during this time. We wish the players leaving the best of luck in their future endeavours.
“Kyrell’s departure has been widely reported, and we are eager to follow his development at Peterborough United in the Football League. He helped us stay up last season, and I appreciate what he did.
“Louie is another player who I’ve grown tremendously fond of in my time at the club and unfortunately although I would have liked to have retained him.
“He has received an excellent offer both financially and geographically and again I wish him all the very best for the future.”
Henry Grey and Emmanuel Okunowo have returned to their parent club, Ipswich Town, while Jermaine Francis has rejoined Barnet after his loan stint.
“As well as Kyrell and Louie, we obviously see Henry, Jermaine and Manny depart as they return to Barnet and Ipswich,” stated Pitt.
A former striker for Braintree agrees to a two-year contract with a League Two team.
Since the day I arrived, Jermaine has complied with all of my requests from the team, and we will keep in touch with him and his agent to find out what lies ahead.
“I have nothing but praise for Henry and the way he conducted himself whilst with us and although Manny picked up an injury which restricted his appearances, again he was a joy to work with and I look forward to seeing how their careers develop.”
Braintree has stated that they are negotiating new contracts with Matt Robinson and Jamal Fyfield for the upcoming campaign.
