Amid interest from Charlton Athletic, Huddersfield Town has made a bold attempt to recruit Leyton Orient midfielder Ethan Galbraith.

It doesn’t matter that this is your first time managing Lee Grant. This summer, the Terriers are supporting the rookie coach by adding several elite players.

The John Smiths Stadium has already welcomed Marcus Harness, Ryan Ledson, Joe Low, and Sean Roughan; Football League World exclusively announced that the deals for the latter two were progressing.

By pursuing Galbraith, the town hopes to bolster itself even more. The 2024–25 season saw the Orient midfielder excel for Richie Wellens’ team, leading them to the League One play-off final before losing to Charlton.

According to Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam, Nathan Jones’ team has offered its London rivals £1.3 million in an attempt to sign the former Manchester United prodigy. Swansea City reportedly expressed interest, but Orient rejected it.

Huddersfield bids £2.5 million for Ethan Galbraith of Leyton Orient.
Since then, Huddersfield is said to have gone and completely blown that deal out of the water by giving almost twice as much as the Addicks did for Galbraith.

Alan Nixon claims that the Terriers have offered Orient £2.5 million for the 24-year-old midfield player.

Wellens’ side will sell the Northern Irishman if Town increase the bid to £3 million, as per Nixon – a figure which he believes Charlton aren’t likely to be able to offer.

Huddersfield suffered a disappointing season last time out, finishing 10th in League One following their relegation from the Championship.

On paper, Huddersfield is assembling a team capable of controlling League One.
Grant should be able to assemble a third-tier super club the next season with the quality they have already acquired.

It will be fancied to win the league, albeit perhaps not to the record-breaking heights that Birmingham City, the winners from the previous season, attained.

Emerging Owen Goodman, who chose Crystal Palace over their third-tier rivals Barnsley and Bolton Wanderers, is also expected to join the Yorkshire team soon.

Following the 21-year-old’s stellar 24/25 loan stint with AFC Wimbledon, FLW exclusively disclosed that Huddersfield have entered the competition for the player.
