As one of just three teams with 50 goals or more, it meant we solidified our position as the division’s third-leading scorer. Interestingly, only two of our players (Hackett and Draker) are in the top 30 scorers, and none of them are in double figures.

That’s a plus. With 10 players on three or more, we share goals with a sizable number of players. With his late goal, Ryan Oné became the most recent player to score, and Michael Skubala mentioned that as something he enjoyed going into the season’s remaining 16 games.

The Sheffield United striker was making his debut, but his goal was laid on by another substitute, and another player chomping at the bit to get minutes, Alfie Lloyd

City had to fight back from losing an early goal, Bim Pepple beating George Wickens from range. The game could easily have run away from City, but instead we had to fight back, which showed our head coach something different to recent matches.

Next week’s matchup with Bolton Wanderers, a second-versus-third matchup that might tip the promotion balance in either direction, will put that mindset to the test. After a week on the training pitch, Michael will undoubtedly be enjoying the game as the team scores goals and displays character under duress.
