Tre Holloman’s home for collegiate basketball has changed.
After three seasons in East Lansing, the former Michigan State guard announced on Sunday that he is transferring to North Carolina State. On April 1, Holloman logged into the transfer site.
Last season, the 6-foot-2 Holloman served as captain and was second on the team in 3-pointers made (48, on 146 tries), averaging 9.1 points and 3.7 rebounds in 37 games, including 16 starts. When Michigan freshmen L.J. Cason and Phat Phat Brooks stood on the Spartans logo and disrupted MSU’s Senior Day tradition, Holloman defended his teammates and scored a season-high 20 points in Michigan State’s 79-62 victory over Michigan in the regular-season finale.

The Minneapolis native averaged 5.6 points and 2.4 assists in 103 games at Michigan State, including 18 starts.
Holloman was one of three Michigan State players who entered the transfer portal, along with forward Xavier Booker and Gehrig Normand. Booker since has transferred to UCLA. Michigan State added a player last week from the portal, landing forward Kaleb Glenn.
N.C. State finished 12-19 last season, including 5-15 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
