As the full-back starts a new phase of his career, Niall Evalds admits he has “absolutely loved” his time at Hull KR. The 31-year-old full-back is set to make the transfer permanent in 2026 after joining the Huddersfield Giants on loan for the rest of the season.
Prior to the 2024 season, Evalds moved from Castleford Tigers to Sewell Group Craven Park, where he made his debut in the Hull derby triumph during the first round of the Super League season. He went on to play for Rovers for 32 games and score 11 tries.
He played an important role in the club’s recent progression, helping the side to its highest-ever Super League finish and a maiden Super League Grand Final.

“I want to express my gratitude to all of the players, staff, and supporters; their unwavering support of my family and I has much contributed to the joyful experience. I’ve enjoyed playing with all of my teammates in front of the spectators at Sewell Group Craven Park.
“My tenure at Hull KR has made me pleased and proud. It was truly unique to be able to walk out to the Old Trafford crowd while playing in a Grand Final. I have many fond memories from my time at the club.
Luke Robinson’s team is still looking for their first victory of the season as Evalds travels to John Smith’s Stadium. On Thursday, they will go to the Salford Red Devils, who are also without a win. Meanwhile, Huddersfield’s playmaker Adam Clune recently sustained a long-term injury.
Willie Peters, the head coach of Hull KR, expressed gratitude to Niall for his time with the team over the past 18 months. He was crucial in getting us to the Grand Final the previous year.
“Niall is a quality person who’s really popular with the fans and his teammates. On behalf of Hull KR, we wish Niall and his family all the best for the future.”
