Ahead of the summer transfer window, Nottingham Forest is preparing a move to acquire Kostas Tsimikas, a left-back for Liverpool.

The 29-year-old is one of several options on Forest’s radar, according to former Man United and Blackburn top scout Mick Brown, who is still very well-connected in the league, in an exclusive interview with Football Insider.

For most of the season, Forest’s first-choice left-back was Neco Williams, with Ola Aina playing right-back. However, they are currently looking for a specialist.

After spending the season on loan at the City Ground from Aston Villa, Leeds is now considering a move for Alex Moreno.

Given that Leeds is also interested in signing Tsimikas and will compete with Forest for his services, Brown told Football Insider in May that this move might work in Forest’s favour.

As they go closer to signing Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez, Liverpool is ready to cash in on the Greece international.

On May 26, Football Insider said that Tsimikas might fetch £15 million since Leeds thinks he will boost their starting lineup right away.

After spending more than ten years at Manchester United during their most successful time, Brown has a plethora of knowledge in recruiting elite players. He has now stated that Forest is ready to compete with Leeds for the left-back.

James McAtee update emerges after England U21 latest

Alongside signing a new left-back, Nuno Espirito Santo is aiming to bolster his squad across the pitch ahead of their participation in next season’s Europa Conference League.

Brown told Football Insider on 14 June that Forest are interested in Man City’s James McAtee and have sent scouts to watch him at the Under-21 Euros.

England’s Under-21 side are aiming to defend their title two years after a 1-0 win over Spain in 2023, with McAtee leading the side as captain.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider that McAtee will not be a Man City player at the start of next season and is not in Pep Guardiola’s plans.
