Darren Oldaker, a former Chesterfield midfielder, has agreed to a two-year contract with Swindon Town.

After leading the Spireites to victory in the National League the previous season, the 26-year-old was let go this week.

After joining Chesterfield three years ago, the former Dorking Wanderers player scored six goals in almost 100 games.

Oldaker told the Swindon website, “I’m excited to be here and ready to get started.”

“Swindon is a family club with admirable ideals and followers, and it has a lot of ambition.

“Every conversation I’ve had with [Swindon manager] Ian Holloway has really resonated with the style of football I want to play, and the ambition of the manager and the club perfectly aligned with me.”
