The Collingwood In preparation for Friday night’s Gather Round matchup with Sydney, coach Craig McRae has made three changes to his squad.
After recovering from a knock to his back in the Opening Round match, Will Hoskin-Elliott, a 2023 Premiership player, will rejoin the AFL team. In Sunday’s victory over Coburg, the utility, who has participated in the last two VFL games, recorded 12 disposals and one goal in his little amount of playing time.
Ed Allan, a midfielder who played in the season’s first game against GWS, is also back for his second game of 2025. The 20-year-old’s 31 disposals and one goal against Sydney in Round 1 of the VFL are just one example of his recent impressive play.
Midfielder Lachie Sullivan will play his second match of the season following his 26 disposals and seven clearances in the VFL on Sunday against Coburg. In the 27-year-old’s only match at AFL level this season, Sullivan collected 12 disposals and kicked a goal in the Pies’ 91-point victory over Port Adelaide.
The three omissions to the team that defeated Carlton are Dan Houston (suspension), Jordan De Goey (ankle/achilles) and Lachie Schultz (hamstring).
19-year-old key forward Charlie West has been included in the squad for the first time in his career, joined by Oleg Markov and Mason Cox as emergencies.
Collingwood ruck Darcy Cameron will notch his 100th AFL match against his former team, who he played one match for.
Selected for his 408th match, Collingwood midfielder Scott Pendlebury will move into third all-time for games played in VFL/AFL history, overtaking former Hawthorn and Port Adelaide player Shaun Burgoyne’s 407. It will also be the 37-year-old’s 400th game in the number 10 guernsey after he played his first season in the number 16.
