
At approximately 6:30 p.m. yesterday, June 10, police were called to a residence in Dunholme End, Maidenhead.
At the scene, a four-year-old boy was pronounced dead.
Specially trained police have been notified and are providing support to his next of kin.
Although formal identification and other coroner procedures are still pending, a Maidenhead woman, 37, has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder.

She is currently still being held.
The Major Crime Unit’s Detective Inspector Rob Underhill stated: “This is a very sad event where a young youngster has unfortunately died.
“The boy’s next of kin are aware, and my thoughts, along with the thoughts of all of us at Thames Valley Police, are with them during this very trying time, even though formal identification has not yet occurred.”
“We have made an arrest in relation to this incident, but we are still in the very early phases of this investigation.
“I understand that the local community will be concerned about this. We appreciate your patience as our officers do out their duties, nevertheless, and are certain that there is no greater risk to the community.”
Officers are still on the site and are expected to stay until Tuesday, June 17.
“I would encourage anyone who has any concerns to speak to any of our officers at the scene,” DI Underhill continued, adding that the scene-watch would probably be in place for a while.
