The Premier League team apparently made a Chelsea star available this summer, and Wrexham might be interested in signing him on loan.
A number of players, including a star captain from their rivals, have been linked to Wrexham ahead of their Championship bid the following season.
However, despite winning three straight promotions, the Welsh team has not yet expanded their roster this summer.
Despite being financially backed by Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson is looking at the loan market.
“The loan market is something we are looking at,” he told The Athletic. “It’s all about touching base with the Premier League loans managers, making sure we have an understanding of who could become available.
“We can probably attract a better calibre of player than we’d have been able to do in the past. Premier League teams are reluctant to loan out their elite players into League One.
“It has to be a player you believe can make an instant impact and is going to make a significant contribution as the season goes on.”

Parkinson’s pursuit of loan signings could see the club make an offer to Chelsea for attacking midfielder Omari Kellyman.
Journalist Ben Jacobs claims Kellyman is likely to move to the Championship on loan next season.
Kellyman, who graduated from Aston Villa’s youth academy before breaking into the first-team, was snapped up by Chelsea for a cool £19 million last summer.
He penned a six-year contract, with an option for an additional year.
But Kellyman has yet to feature for Chelsea’s first-team as they are thought to be keen on loaning him out next season.

The 19-year-old was restricted to just four games for the club’s under-21s last season, having suffered a hamstring injury.
He remarked in March: “I’m devastated to report that, even though I just returned after suffering from hamstring problems for a significant portion of this season, my season has ended early due to a reinjury [sic].”
“24-25 has been a tough season for me mentally and physically due to injury but it’s important now that I take time to get this right and come out the other side stronger and better ready for what next season brings.”
Enzo Maresca’s plans for Chelsea’s Club World Cup campaign this month don’t seem to include Kellyman.
Before possibly being sent out on loan to a Championship team for the upcoming season, he is expected to stay in London to increase his level of fitness.
