In an unexpected move, YouTuber “Cleetus McFarland” has been promoted for a forthcoming NASCAR drive.
This year, the internet phenomenon, whose real name is Garrett Mitchell, has participated in three ARCA Menards Series races and finished in the top 10 twice.
According to the Sports Business Journal, if Stellantis decides to join the NASCAR Truck Series soon, McFarland might join the Ram brand.
This year, McFarland has been racing for Rette Jones Racing in the ARCA. He finished 30th at Daytona, tenth at Talladega, and ninth at Charlotte, which was a career-best result.

Earlier this year, when discussing the possibility of jumping straight into the Cup Series, he told Kevin Harvick on his Happy Hour podcast: “No, definitely not doing that,”
“Until this year, I wasn’t a huge fan of NASCAR, but [Greg] Biffle helped me even walk through the door. You and I, however, have both seen a number of people look foolish as they push their way into the Cup in this one season alone.
“When I first called Biff, I said, ‘I want to race Cup,’ but he reminded me that I needed to accomplish this and this.
“I think our original goal was the Daytona 500 in 2027 and I’m not saying that’s off the board, but now that I know just a smidge about NASCAR, I still think that might be too early ‘cause them guys are on a whole ‘nother level.”
