During the contentious Premier League match between Tottenham and Liverpool on Saturday, PGMOL vowed to make the audio of the conversations between match officials public.
After VAR failed to reverse an inaccurate decision to disallow Luis Diaz’s first-half goal, which was initially deemed offside by the on-field officials, the Reds demanded that PGMOL make the audio available.
Joel Matip’s late own goal gave Tottenham a 2-1 victory in the contentious game, and PGMOL later revealed that the decision to disallow the goal was the consequence of “a significant human error.”
Mail Sport now knows that PGMOL has reaffirmed their commitment to making the audio available, despite the fact that a review of the disputed decision is still continuing.
PGMOL head Howard Webb was eager to disclose the audio right away despite internal debates about whether it should have been done in the wake of Saturday’s error.
Following Liverpool’s loss, PGMOL issued a statement explaining that VAR had failed to overturn Michael Oliver’s (left) on-field determination of no goal due to a “significant human error.”
