According to Love Rugby League, Castleford Tigers hooker Cain Robb is expected to go on loan from the team in an attempt to get regular playing time.
Under Danny McGuire, the 22-year-old has had few opportunities this season. Despite being a consistent member of the Tigers team under Craig Lingard last season, he has only made four appearances, two of which have been starts and two of which have been substitutes.
Due to Chris Atkin’s arrival and Liam Horne’s status as a consistent starter, Robb’s exposure to Super League play has been restricted.

Castleford is eager for him to keep improving as they start to restructure their team for 2026. Robb’s contract with the Tigers is still in effect for the upcoming season, and his departure is not planned.
However, Love Rugby League is aware that Robb will soon be able to play regularly thanks to a short-term transfer. The player has been scouted by Super League and Championship clubs, but it appears that he will transfer to a Super League opponent.
The Tigers have largely favoured a rotation of Atkin and Horne in recent weeks, since the former arrived from Salford Red Devils. Judah Rimbu was signed as the club’s starting hooker at the beginning of this season, but he has already returned to Papua New Guinea.
And Robb may now leave on a short-term deal too in order to gain more experience, with the player set to return to McGuire’s plans if injuries at Castleford strike.
The Tigers remain on the hunt for new players themselves, with a deal for Gold Coast Titans forward Joe Stimson on the verge of being completed. McGuire admitted this week he hoped to have a new body through the door by the end of this week.
And Robb could be set to head the opposite way temporarily, it seems.
