After being promoted to League One, Rovers dismissed several players in the summer, including the 20-year-old attacker. He made 23 senior appearances in DN4, although he struggled with bruises and niggles and was loaned out a few times near the conclusion of his stint.

After leaving in the summer, he signed a permanent contract with non-league Basford United. After only a few months back there, Mansfield Town has already signed him and included him in their group of under-21 players. Before relocating permanently to Mansfield the following summer, he would first play the remainder of the season at Basford.

Speaking to mansfieldtown.net, Stags’ academy manager Richard Cooper said: “We’re delighted to welcome Jack to our under-21s group at Mansfield Town.

“It’s a good opportunity for Jack to develop and train every day and we’re hoping this gives him a platform to build his profile again.

“We watch a lot of non-league football and we’re looking always at players that we think may improve our academy moving forwards.

“We have worked collaboratively with Basford so they don’t lose their centre-forward this season by Jack returning on loan and positively for us, we’ve acquired his signature.”
