They have won 10 of their fixtures so far, losing only five games. Michael Skubala will aspire to reach the play-offs this term, capitalising on a fast start and divisional favourites struggling.

His side have been strong defensively, having only conceded 21 times, amounting to roughly a goal against per game. Alternatively in attack, Lincoln City have netted 28 times in the third tier so far, the joint-fourth most in the division.

Both sides of the game apply to the qualities of transfer target Josh Honohan, who operates primarily at left wing-back and can contribute in both boxes.

Honohan has plied his trade with Shamrock Rovers for the past two seasons but now looks set to move to the EFL with Lincoln City. The Irish Independent reports a deal worth €500,000 (around £440,000) has been struck between the two clubs and a move is likely to be made official over Christmas.

With the January transfer window on the horizon, high-flying League One side Lincoln City look set to make their first signing of the winter.

24-year-old Irishman Honohan has been a target for the Lincolnshire outfit since the summer, when Rovers previously rejected bids for their defender. However, with keenness from the player, a move has rekindled and looks set to be completed in due course.

Currently occupying the left wing-back role in Skubala’s side is veteran defender Adam Reach, who was signed as a free agent in September.

The flexibility and constant transition between a back four and a back three with wing-backs will favour the Imps’ new addition, immediately slotting into a familiar role.

Honohan made eight starts in the UEFA Conference League in 2024/25, including against Chelsea, notching a goal against Northern Irish opponents Larne FC and an assist against Austrian side Rapid Vienna.
