Sonny Bradley was released by Championship team Derby County at the end of the season, and Lincoln City signed him to a two-year contract.

The 33-year-old Bradley last played for the Rams in January. He spent the last few months of the season—and his Derby contract—on loan at League One Wycombe Wanderers.

In his debut season at Pride Park in 2023–24, he made 41 of his 50 appearances for Derby, which helped them return to the Championship after two seasons in the third division.

In his 15-year professional career, which began with Hull City and has included stints at Luton Town, Portsmouth, and Plymouth Argyle, Bradley will be playing for Lincoln for the ninth time.
Bradley will be reunited with assistant coach Chris Cohen, with whom he previously collaborated at the Hatters, and former Luton and Rams teammate James Collins, the striker who led Derby to promotion from League One a year ago.

Both, he claims, helped persuade him to make the move.

Bradley told BBC Radio Lincolnshire, “After talking to people I already know at the club, it was a straightforward decision.”

“It only leads to success when I do follow James around. Hopefully, we can replicate what happened at Luton and Derby.

“I’m just looking forward to getting started now.”

A day after 17-year-old winger Zane Okoro signed his first professional contract with the team, Bradley became Lincoln’s first summer addition.
