At the end of the season, Jamie Vardy will be leaving Leicester City, and many Sheffield Wednesday supporters know where they would like to see him go.

It has been reported that the 38-year-old will leave the Foxes after 13 years, after an amazing run in which he won the Premier League, FA Cup, Community Shield, two Championship crowns, and other individual honours.

Vardy honoured a number of individuals from his journey as part of his farewell, including Owls icon Nigel Pearson, who signed him from Fleetwood Town in 2012 for a pittance of £1 million, years after he had been released by Wednesday at the age of 16. We can safely state that the money was well spent.

“I’ve been here so long that I truly thought it would never end,” he stated in his farewell remarks. In addition to being extremely challenging to write, I also had a very hard time deciding what to do. For thirteen years, Leicester City has been my family, my life, and my second home. For my family and I, the club, the city, and the people are all very important. Our children’s lives have been influenced by this location. I consider myself quite fortunate to have lived in Leicester for so long.

“But for me the time has come to say goodbye. Nine years ago we did the impossible. We won the Premier League. We then went on to win the FA Cup. That was for you, Vichai. We reached the Champions League quarter-finals, and before all that, we pulled off the Great Escape. Those good memories will last a lifetime.
