Beck Owen is rumored to “likely leave” Liverpool this summer, which might help Sheffield United in their possible pursuit of him.
Earlier this year, Beck surfaced as a potential summer target for United. The defender was one of two Liverpool youths listed on a “long list” of potential targets, along with winger Lewis Koumas. Bramall Lane recruitment chiefs are reportedly “showing an interest” in the two, who are both making an impression while on loan at Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers, according to the Daily Mail.
Liverpool are expecting a busy summer transfer window as Arne Slot overhauls his playing squad, but there will also be big decisions to make on several young stars who are developing well but not quite enough to break into the first-team. Among them is Beck, who will be 23 in August and undoubtedly keen to continue playing regular football as he approaches the peak of his career.
The Premier League team’s main summer shopping priority is a new left-back, but reputable Liverpool reporter David Lynch does not anticipate Beck playing any part in Arne Slot’s future plans. One of United’s “long list” targets may so become available.

Lynch told Anfield Index, “I’ve concluded that quite a lot of the youngsters probably don’t have a future, but that’s because the standards are so high.” After making an impression while on loan at Blackburn Rovers, I honestly believed that Owen Beck was the player most likely to make the first team, but he is also expected to depart this summer.
Liverpool is going to sign a left back, and he is ready to make a permanent move at the age of 22. They have [Kostas] Tsimikas and Andy Robertson, one of whom they must move. Although football can be about timing like that in many ways, I don’t think he will be able to find a seat there
Beck may be let to depart, especially if a good offer is made for the defender, as Liverpool has already been strongly connected to a new first-choice left-back. It’s unclear if Bramall Lane will make the bid, but if earlier rumours of interest are to be believed, it’s surely something to watch.
But according to the first Daily Mail report, a deal for Beck would probably hinge on United being promoted to the Premier League. They also mention that Alan Knill, Chris Wilder’s assistant coach, is acquainted with Koumas, a defender and fellow summer target, from his time as Wales coach.
Lower-tier Premier League teams will probably be interested in both, especially if they maintain their strong play through the last eight games of the current season. With United meeting current loan club Blackburn Rovers at Bramall Lane on the last day of the season, Beck may even have a say in whether his potential suitors advance.
